The primary treatment goal of the The East End Multidisciplinary Pain Management Program (EMP) is to help patients with chronic pain increase their level of function in spite of the pain they experience. The multidisciplinary staff of EMP includes psychiatry, physical medicine, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition, tai chi, and aqua therapy. The majority of these staff members have received specific post-graduate, subspecialty training in the use of cognitive behavioural therapy for the management of chronic pain. They have over fifteen years of experience in the field.

Patients treated at The East End Multidisciplinary Pain Management Program (EMP) are referred by physicians, the WSIB, insurance providers, rehabilitation counsellors, other allied health service providers, lawyers and paralegal counsellors.
